Holiday crafting here in the home office encompasses a variety of media. Besides spinning in circles preparing for celebrating, there’s actually spinning that goes on here.
Sometimes knitting also happens. We can talk about that later.
This stuff is Polwarth wool hand dye plied with commercially dyed Merino. Two types of nice soft wools. Thank you, sheep.
I like to spin lots of colors together. Sort of like my quilts. And mosaics. And paintings. And beads. And cookies.
It’s holiday time!
Time to throw caution to the wind! Use and consume large quantities of butter and sugar! String flashing lights outside of the house! Wear crazy sweaters and unflattering holiday outfits! Tie bows on everything including the dogs!
The sugar high, insulin stupor, flashing lights and flashy outfits induce a temporary psychosis that leads me to think that a wrapping room is a good idea. Martha Stewart and Candy Spelling have them don’t they?
In keeping with our philosophy that there is no such thing as overdecorated in the holidays, we have an annual cookie decorating tradition. I’ll share a few shots of this year’s fleeting artwork.
By the time you read this, these mini works of art will likely have been decapitated.
And the neighborhood will have been destroyed.
So much for peace and joy for sugar cookies.

You’re not seeing the whole thing, but this gives you the feel of it. The rest of the pictures I took of the quilt turned out blurry, and now it’s too dark and cold to take decent picture of it to post today. But I said I would yesterday, so here it is.
Minor annoyances. Me, my post, my blurry pictures, darkness, cold and winter.
Luckily I have my plushy quilt to keep me warm.
