Ad Hoc Fat Tuesday

‘Ad Hoc’ is a latin phrase meaning ‘For This’ and is used for designating committees and things that are supposed to do one specific task. (It’s one of those Latin phrases that are good to know for crossword puzzles, and to avoid being confused by smarty-pants lawyer friends…Quid Pro Quo* is another good one to know. Also Semper Ubi, Sub Ubi**)

In today’s case, Ad Hoc meant another extraordinary meal created by Thomas Keller and team in Yountville, consumed with gusto with the Fat Tuesday group and spouses.

Fat Tuesday French Laundry

Two of us celebrate 25 and 30 years of marriage this weekend. All of us Fat Tuesday ladies have been married for more than 24 years. A good reason to celebrate and have our husbands along for dinner at the French Laundry in Yountville, don’tcha think?

Thomas Keller and his staff’s exacting attention to every detail, made for a spectacular meal raising the level of food to art. They achieved their goal of finesse in food, service, presentation and artisanship.
