One of my personal passions is food. That being said, something near and dear to my heart is the goal of making sure that no one goes hungry. That’s a tall order, bound to end in hand wringing and worry when it comes to the whole world. I decided to focus my attention on local hunger… so…I’m involved in the local safety net charity, Samaritan House. I probably add the most value at the board level, and raising funds, though I find huge satisfaction serving up food, bagging groceries, sorting cans and organizing people.
Today, a group of young volunteers helped over 130 families get fresh produce from a truck with food from Second Harvest Food Bank and Samaritan House.
I get more out of giving than I give.
I think the kids that helped today now feel the same way.
What a worthy cause and wonderful that kids are involved.
Thanks!
