Who knew? I sure didn’t. Did you know, there’s a Blogger’s Quilt Festival going on this week and this is not the first time it’s been held?
This blogging and quilting thing is big.
As of this moment there are 578 quilts from different bloggers linked. Schnap, the Co-Q, and I decided to put this quilt in the pile. Perhaps we’ll be number 579. Go check it out.
Here’s the story – It’s sort of unlike other quilts I’ve made. I usually do not use purchased patterns (preferring the challenge of figuring out pieced blocks through trial, error, aggravation, and geometry), but I saw this one at PIQF (Pacific International Quilt Festival) and loved it…This one was too cute to resist. There’s no question that this is a quilt pattern was designed for a girl, and likely a young one. But this gal (and her dog) have resisted giving this quilt away. We like it too much.
If you look closely, you’ll see that I quilted swingy long hair and different dresses on each doll.
I’m told that dogs don’t see color, but I believe that the colors in this quilt makes both of us happy.
fab quilt, and what a gorgeous pup!
This quilt is absolutely precious–great pattern and understandable that you want to keep the quilt. I love the undulations in your sashing strips. So glad you discovered the BQF and got your quilt entered.
Such a cute quilt. I love the way you quilted in the hair and dresses. I’d keep it too!
Such a cute, girly quilt! and I love the last photo with Schnap and his teddy.
I love the paperdoll cut out concept. This quilt is amazing.
Super cute – the quilted hair is a really sweet touch!
The quilting really makes this quilt! LOVE IT!!
I also sew with my dog. She thinks she is my assistant but the extent of her helping is to lay on all my fabric.
darling and understand how it’d be hard to part with. quilting is adorable!! just a fun, vibrant quilt. thanks for sharing and have a great day
I love the swingy hair and different dresses. Do any of the girls have little dogs quilted in?
🙂
Hi , I love your quilt. It reminds me of little paper dolls we used to make in school. Very pretty 🙂
I love this quilt! In fact, I have been dreaming of something very similar for when it is my turn in one of my bees. I don’t blame you, I don’t think I could part with it either. ; )
So cute.
Sooo sweet!!! Love this. And the stitched hair – priceless!
The paper doll chain effect is lovely and your quilting really personalises it
Hello! This quilt is so wonderful and happy! I would love to make to myself a doll quilt, because I don’t have any daughter to make it. I’m sure my sewing assistant ‘Hanna’ would enjoy this. With ‘Nero’ I have made ‘Nero’s Garden’ quilt and I joined the quilt festival with that.
Your dog is so sweet and beautiful!
Sunny wishes from Greece!
Your quilt is so wonderful! I love Nero’s Garden. Now I’m inspired to make Schnap’s Garden!
