This fishing trip started with being inspired by improvisational quilting and liberated quilt making. Gwen Marston and Freddy Moran make eye poppingly bright quilts together and I had the privilege of seeing some of them up close and personal once. They’re so full of energy! (Both the quilts and quilters come to think of it.)
And then, recently I was inspired by Ed Emberley’s drawings and made an alligator….
as a result of improvisationally piecing Blue Lady by Matisse…. having been inspired to do that by Victoria at Bumblebeans…. And I made that because I was feeling like doing something other than finishing the Kaleidoscope quilt.
But meanwhile I made this scrap quilt.
Anyway, because I’d made the alligator and Blue Lady, Fish just seemed like the right thing to do next.
Aren’t you glad I took the process pledge?
Hi! I can’t list every thing I like here, because I just love all your works! This colourful quilt is an art quilt! I was trying to find art quilts from google but wasn’t succesful and now I find it from you!!! Also I adore all your animal blocks! I made yesterday birds (didn’t post yet) and now I want to make fishes!
Your dog is so sweet! I have a photo of my collie puppy (years ago) with a reddish, she liked them too.
Best wishes! Teje
Thanks so much! I love all your works and your pictures too!
