Beach Plastic

Re-using things, saving scraps, cataloging, collecting, and collating. Things I like to do.  How about you?

The Langs are using beach plastic from the beach in Point Reyes to create interesting things. Point Reyes is north of San Francisco Bay on the California coastline, and is relatively isolated. It’s amazing – and a bit troubling – the things found there.

I love how they sleuth out where their treasures originate.  And besides their art, their relationship seems just lovely.

They’re not alone in making and displaying art made from plastic washed up on beaches. I posted about another exhibit on plastic in August, Washed Ashore.

Thanks for posting the video about beach plastic. I found it really compelling. Depressing, and compelling. Great find, Patty!
