The Journey

Varanasi

We’re back doing laundry, sorting mail, and dealing with postponed appointments. I’m groggy from jetlag and catching up on things neglected during our trip to India.  Our last day was in Varanasi.  (Some know it by the name Benares, and/or Kashi)

It’s a holy city to Buddists, Hindus, and Jains. Like at Jerusalem or Mecca for other faiths, the fervour and concentration of the religious in their holy place is intense.
People come from all over to seek enlightenment and find peace.
But others come to do laundry and fish.
Either way, a rewarding journey.
