A Community Garden

piecedgoods Village Full Quilt In between the holiday treat making and giving; wrapping and unwrapping; greeting and cheer; minor bits of projects were finished just in time to gift for Christmas.

This quilt was made up of blocks from Elizabeth Hartman’s book, Modern Patchwork:12 Quilts to Take You Beyond the Basics.
House BlockI confess that I have a thing for house blocks.  The block here especially appealed to me with the highlighted window and roofline.  The window part gave me chance to highlight some fun fussy cut fabric of photography, dogs, food, and quilts.

Part of the quilt

I originally planned on the quilt being all house blocks, laid out very much like in the book in staggered rows, but I decided to put a garden full of vegetables (fabric by Alexander Henry) in the middle of the  quilt.  A community garden.
