Dog Blessings

We try to entice Schnap off quilt pieces before photographing so that my loyal blog readers can see the work, but it’s tough. You see, the dog is a multi-tasker –  and diligent and wily to boot. The Co-Quilter feels it is her duty to put herself on every quilt or quilt piece every time it is photographed. Sort of like the laying on of hands, only in her case, paws.

Improvisational Fishing

Improvisational FishThis fishing trip started with being inspired by improvisational quilting and liberated quilt making.  Gwen Marston and Freddy Moran make eye poppingly bright quilts together and I had the privilege of seeing some of them up close and personal once. They’re so full of energy! (Both the quilts and quilters come to think of it.)

And then,  recently I was inspired by Ed Emberley’s drawings and made an alligator….

as a result of improvisationally piecing Blue Lady by Matisse…. having been inspired to do that by Victoria at Bumblebeans…. And I made that because I was feeling like doing something other than finishing the Kaleidoscope quilt.

But meanwhile I made this scrap quilt.

Anyway, because I’d made the alligator and Blue Lady, Fish just seemed like the right thing to do next.
Aren’t you glad I took the process pledge?

Omnivore

It turns out that Schnap – the Co-Quilter and Co-Gardener – enjoys radishes.
Organic and fresh from the garden, of course.
