Scrappy

Quilting… It’s a crazy hobby, I tell you.

See, I take full big pieces of fabric and cut it into smaller pieces. Some of those pieces are sewn together in what is hoped are pleasing combinations. Other pieces are discarded or jammed into the scrap pile.  The kids, the quilt
When it’s unbearable, the scrap pile must be dealt with, and the scraps are sewn into larger pieces of fabric.

The pile in the corner was making me crazy. The current scrap pile had grown as a result of many quilts, particularly the latest kaleidoscope quilt quadrants. In a fit of pique, I sewed things together.  I chucked in some blocks I’d made but decided not to carry forward into full grown quilt tops, scrambled them together and, well, now we have big fabric again, only crazier.  Quilt Chop Suey.

Crazy is as crazy does.

This is a great post. Pictures, project, philosophic musing, end result – the perfect blend of humor and nonchalant genius. I only wonder “where the heck was Co-Q, during all this?” 🙂
